Our Story

A thoughtful transformation of an Old Havana home.

The Transformation

Between 2016 and 2019, we carefully transformed an Old Havana building into Residencia Santa Clara. Our goal was never to erase its history, but to respect it while bringing it into the present. We preserved and reused local materials wherever possible, combining them with a practical, modern design sensibility to create a sanctuary from the vibrant energy of the city.

Our Values

Local First

We buy locally wherever possible and support local makers and suppliers. From handcrafted furniture to our handmade local soap, every detail is considered.

Our People

We look after and value our staff. They are the heart of Residencia Santa Clara, offering serious, personal hospitality that makes guests feel truly welcome.

Honest Value

We believe in honest value rather than pretension. Our design is practical, our service is genuine, and our pricing is clear.

Solar Resilience

To ensure a reliable and responsible operation, we invested in solar resilience. Our 16 panels generate up to 3.6 kW, supported by a 12 kW inverter and 32 kWh battery storage.

Spaces to Gather & Retreat

Residencia Santa Clara features two terraces—a tranquil courtyard and a breezy rooftop—both completely private and exclusively accessible to our hotel guests.

Food & Drink

Our small, quirky restaurant and bar is air-conditioned—an important and uncommon comfort in Old Havana. The space features original murals by renowned contemporary artists. The food we serve is varied, well-prepared, and honestly priced. We offer a genuine culinary experience that satisfies without unnecessary fuss.
