Plaza de la Catedral (Cathedral Square, Havana)
laza de la Catedral takes its name from the Havana Cathedral, a baroque masterpiece towering over the rest of the colonial buildings in Old Havana. A bit touristy, but totally worth a visit. At least for the photo opportunity!
Iconic Bodeguita del Medio is very close to the square, and Callejon del Chorro, a hard to miss alley on the east corner of the square, is home to some really good restaurant/bars that should help you deal with the Caribbean sun.
The Museum of Colonial Art is also very close, and if you walk towards the malecon (Havana’s seafront Drive) you’ll get fantastic views over the bay, the Morro Castle, and Havana’s Christ.
The Cathedral Square is within walking distance from our casa particular Residencia Santa Clara, and like the rest of Old Havana is very safe to explore.
